Calgary Maternity Session: Janelle + Ben

I love maternity sessions. They are some of my favourite sessions because it is so fun to capture such a significant change in people's lives. Whether its the first child or one of many, it is always a complete life altering journey. I feel so blessed to be able to capture that time for families.

This session is dear to my heart. My cousin Janelle and her husband Ben asked me to capture this part of her life. I was so happy to be able to help them do this. We did this shoot the day after their fifth anniversary, a significant milestone to coincide with their first child. I know they are both excited to welcome a child into their lives and I can't wait to see what amazing parents they will be.

We started the session with the same car that took them away from their wedding day at a spot overlooking the city skyline. Although the view was beautiful, we had to move on because of uncooperative winds. We went to one of my favourite locations to finish our session. I love working in gardens; there are so many beautiful areas in Calgary to capture images. It was so lovely to work with Janelle and Ben. It's always a joy to be able to take photos for family, and I love that I helped them capture this time in their lives.
